Senior Exams are scheduled as follows:

   Friday, May 24                  3A/4A Exams          CAT-S Review

   Monday, May 27              Holiday

   Tuesday, May 28                3B/4B Exams           CAT-S Exams

   Wednesday, May 29       1A/2A Exams           CAT-S Exams

   Thursday, May 30            1B/2B Exams           CAT-S Exams   Seniors are dismissed from school upon the completion of the 2B exam.

   Thursday, May 30            LAST DAY FOR SENIORS 

Students who have taken an AP exam may be exempt from the course final exam ONLY IF a SIGNED AP / Final Exam form has been turned in to the Attendance OfficeNo Form – No Exemption.

- We encourage all seniors to attend this event with their dates.  Please realize that once you leave the Prom Breakfast, you may not return.
- Parents are reminded to send in their donations, addressed to the school, marked “Attention – Prom Breakfast.” Checks may be made out to South River High School, with Prom Breakfast in the memo section.

Graduation Practice

All graduating Seniors MUST be in their seats in the auditorium by 11:00am
 
> ATTENDANCE AT GRADUATION PRACTICES IS MANDATORY.
>> STUDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE IN ALL GRADUATION REHEARSALS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CEREMONY.
Students must make arrangements with employers and families if scheduling conflicts occur.
Graduation
Friday, May 31, 2013
2:30pm – ALL Seniors MUST ARRIVE BY 1:15PM
Show Place Arena, Upper Marlboro, MD
- Please allow plenty of time for traveling to the Show Place Arena.  Delays are to be expected and can take up to 1 hour.

Graduation Attire - Graduation is a dignified ceremony and students must be dressed appropriately.  Ladies are to wear white or light pastel colored dresses and comfortable, white, low-heeled shoes.  Gentlemen are to wear white shirts, tie, dress slacks and dress shoes.  Platform and high-heels are not permitted – these styles are unsafe on the steps.  No student may wear flip-flops, thongs, tennis shoes or boat shoes.  It is recommended that the graduation ceremony shoes be worn to graduation practice.
Caps & Gowns
Seniors must wear a year 2013 cap and gown to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Styles from previous graduation years will not match.  You must write your name on the inside of the cap in permanent marker.
Graduation Tickets
Tickets to the graduation ceremony will be distributed during graduation practice on May 29, 2013.  Each student will receive 7 tickets to the ceremony, unless a request for more has been granted.
Accessible Seating / Parking
Seating for people with special needs is available in specially marked sections of the arena.  Please consult an usher for assistance.  Handicapped parking permits are available.  If special accommodations are required, please contact Mrs Eutsler at beutsler@aacps.org.
Diploma Distribution
Senior will receive their diploma cover when they walk across the stage.  After the ceremony, all students will recess to the tunnel at the back of the arena and report to the appropriate alpha-ordered table.  Seniors must present a graudation cap with their name written inside to get their diploma.
Video Recording of the Event
The ceremony will be recorded.  Order forms will be provided to students inside the envelope with the diploma.
Photography during the Event
A photographer has been contracted to take each graduate’s picture as they receive their diploma.  No one else will be permitted to stand near the stage or on the floor of the arena to take pictures during the ceremony.  Mr Myers will be happy to pose with the student after the ceremony is over.
Obligations
All obligations must be cleared by Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in order to get graduation tickets.  This includes returning all textbooks, fund-raising money, projects, materials, library fines, gym locks, etc.

ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND OTHER INCIDENTS

Any Senior student caught and confirmed in alcohol or other drug activity after May 1, 2013 will be denied all remaining Senior priviledges, including participation in the graduation ceremony.

May 1, 2013 is the last day a graduating senior can be enrolled in the Alternative to Drugs Program, the Responsible Actions Program or the Anti-Tobacco Use Program.
