….
Congratulations to our Polar Bear Plunge SnoHawks team!
The SnoHawks are leading the Cool School Challenge – by almost $13,000!
They have surpased their goal of $25,000 in pledged donations and are well on their way to reaching the next level – $35,000 in pledged donations.
Way To Go SnoHawks!
Thanks to the generosity of the South River community, Ms Mary Kokosko and Coach Paul Noone have committed to the Super Plunge. They will take to the frigid waters of the Chesapeake Bay once an hour, every hour, for 24 hours, starting early in the morning, Friday, February 1.

Plunge Cool School Team: South River SnoHawks
(from Day 9 – the 17th Annual Polar Bear Plunge website at www.kintera.org 1/17/2013)
…This year, to create some friendly competition and increase another school’s fundraising efforts, South River High School was challenged – beat the goal of $25,000 and the school sends a teacher or coach to the Super Plunge.
The SnoHawks have currently raised over $16,000 for Special Olympics Maryland and are getting closer to beating their goal every day. Rather than focus on individual team member fundraising, the school team has held several fundraising events, including a Burpee-A-Thon, which raised $9,000 for the team. In addition to icon sales, the school’s next in-school team fundraiser was pre-viewed when a live goat visited the school to spark interest. If the team meets the minimum amount of cash, the goat will return to the school for the celebratory “Kiss the Goat” event with teacher volunteers.
