South River High School needs your help!

Your contribution is tax deductible!

The South River High School Community Partnership needs to raise at least $50,000 by July 1st, 2011.  If successful we will receive an additional $50,000 as a result of being granted a bond bill sponsored by Senator John Astle.  All of these funds will be used to help renovate the South River High School media center – a project that we expect will cost approximately $500,000.

As we strive to provide our children with the best possible education, it is important that they have access to the appropriate resources to help them succeed.  Our main project is the renovation of the media center, which has not been updated since the school opened its doors in 1978.  With the average age of the current holdings being 26 years, a major renovation and upgrade of the library is long overdue.   Our goal is to make the library the heart of our school, a place that student’s look forward to visiting and using.  Our plan incorporates not only a cosmetic upgrade to increase comfort and utilization, but more importantly a technological one that will enhance our students learning ability for many years to come.

The South River High School Community Partnership is a non profit, tax exempt organization created by the SR High School Community Advisory Board.  We are a network of school, business, and community leaders who form partnerships between the school and the community to identify and obtain resources to compliment and improve the ongoing curricula and facilities in order to enhance the students’ potential for future successes.

Any donation is greatly appreciated with those of $100 or more resulting in a letter of thanks and recognition on our website.  PLEASE consider helping us as funds are urgently needed to avoid losing the $80,000 bond bill we worked so hard to attain.  Thank you!

Media Center Legacy Gift

The Media Center Legacy program allows friends and families to give a meaningful gift in the name of their graduate that will benfit the future Seahawks who will follow in their footsteps.  By supporting the SRHS Media Center, your gift will honor the true legacy of the Class of 2011 – their dedication to educational excellence, their desire to give back to the community, their generous spirit – while ensuring South River’s ability to continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for every student.

Sponsored by the SRHS Community Partnership, the Media Center Legacy project celebrates the experiences and accomplishments achieved by our current students and soon-to-be graduates while providing much-needed support for future students at South River High School. Each graduating class has the opportunity to serve as an inspiration and motivation for our school community, today and in the future.
