Fall Semester Parking Application is Now Available

Senior students who wish to park on the campus of SRHS must apply for a permit at the beginning of each semester.  Parking spaces are assigned on a priority basis as determined by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Board of Education.  Applications for students who do not meet the requirements for priority will be placed in a lottery with parking spaces assigned by random drawing.  Any student wishing to park on campus for the Fall Semester MUST APPLY for a permit.

Applications for Fall Parking may be accessed at the link below and are available in the school office.

All applications and supporting documents must be HAND CARRIED by the APPLICANT to Ms Jentilet or Ms Picken in the Main Office by June 1, 2012.   Late applications can still be turned in, but will go to the bottom of the pile.

Parking applicants must attend an orientation program.  Summer Parking Orientation schedule is now available (see link below).

Schools with a positive climate are better places for students to learn.

The Maryland State Department of Education is working with South River High School to learn more about what parents think about the school’s climate. School climate includes feelings about the safety, relationships, and learning environment of your child’s school.

This is an opportunity for all parents to give their input on how to improve the school. Your answers will help us make your child’s school a better place to learn.

All of your responses are anonymous and can’t be linked to you in any way. All the information you share with us will be confidential and private. The data from your survey will be aggregated with other responses and reported back to the school in summary format.

There are no “right” or “wrong” answers, so please answer the following questions honestly. Last year the survey took most parents less than 10 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions about the survey or any difficulties completing the survey, please call the survey administrator at (443) 287-0030 or send an email to MDS3@pbismaryland.org.

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS).  It is not a race!  People form teams from churches, workplaces, schools, or families who want to Relay in honor of a relative/friend.  Team members take turns walking the laps throughout the evening – that’s where the “relay” in Relay For Life comes from.

South County Relay for Life

at South River High School

June 22-23, 2012

beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 6:00am

It’s a party atmosphere with special events (opening ceremony, luminaria ceremony, fight back ceremony), games, give-aways, activities, bands, and lots to buy!  We will have a dodgeball tournament, karaoke, volleyball tournament, special themed laps, a live auction, Queen of the Relay, water balloon toss, and more!

All donations collected go toward research, education and patient services.  Some of those funds also go to the Young Survivor Scholarship program which provides a $500 stipend per academic year to college-bound pediatric cancer survivors in need of financial aid.
